WORK HIGHLIGHTS

Living day to day, not knowing if tomorrow will come, Simone Hamilton is overcoming the odds. Rising star singer and influencer, her followers have witnessed it all.
None of it is her story... But does this mean it’s not true?

A Suffocating Choking Feeling is a subversive interrogation of truth, inspired by Australian wellness influencer and cancer “survivor” Belle Gibson. Using social media experiments and LIVE performance via Zoom, Simone explores influencer culture and our dangerous obsession with crafting “authentic” versions of our lives.

This video is an excerpt from the LIVE Zoom performance.

String Lines was formed as part of a one week development through REACT at the Royal Exchange Theatre and had a work-in-progress showing as part of the Co:LAB Festival 2019 at the Royal Exchange. TomYumSim collaborated with Manchester based electronic artists, Joshua Ward and Rhys Sumner, to tear apart the construct of musical theatre and reassemble it with electronic vibrating particles.

Reactions from the first public showing were; “A wild journey through the mind” and “A unique unmissable experience”. String Lines was created with BSL and Captioning, interwoven throughout the piece to make it accessible performance.
In 2021 it is undergoing a second development.

Nothing Special is a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek satire that pokes fun at the self-obsessed and narcissistic psyches of Generation Y, taking extremely talented people to average heights to save them from a lifetime of disappointment.

This production premiered at Handle With Care Festival 2019 at Camden People's Theatre, London.
